Dr. Nichols completed her associate’s degree in dental hygiene at The University of New Mexico (UNM) in Albuquerque in 1967 before completing her bachelor’s degree there in dental hygiene in 1975. She continued with pre-dental classes at UNM and then graduated with her dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine in Boston, Massachusetts, in 1980.
Among her professional appointments, Dr. Nichols serves as a trustee for the Albuquerque District Dental Society and has previously served as their President, Vice President, Secretary/Treasurer, and Peer Review Chairperson. She also serves as a chairperson for the New Mexico Dental Association.
She is heavily involved in her community, working as a dental provider with New Mexico Dental Association’s charitable arm, Donated Dental Services, and as the lay volunteer chairperson for Mission of Mercy.
